Brand New Day is a Dutch challenger focused on disrupting the pension business in the Netherlands. In 2015, the company took the decision to develop an online pension bank for private individuals. Matrix accounts is the core component of Brand New Day Bank’s IT infrastructure and has supported the roll-out of its savings business, enabling the company to build a new digital bank from scratch in just five months.
Start-up bank Knab has made a significant impact on the Dutch banking scene running a digital banking platform powered by our Matrix mid-office system. The bank wanted to ensure it kept overheads low, was recognized in the market for its first-class customer service, and could provide a SME with a fully-operational account within hours. Today, with over 125,000 satisfied customers, it is well on its way to achieving its goals.
As the oldest independent bank in the Netherlands, Van Lanschot turned to five°degrees to help it take its banking systems digital. The bank now uses our Matrix platform for online and offline onboarding, online customer self-service processes, and to provide a 360-degree customer view. This has improved the customer experience, reduced costs, and provided a flexible, future-proof platform on which the bank can build and expand.
Belgian bank Argenta wanted to create a digital savings and mortgage bank for the Dutch market. Running both our Matrix mid and Matrix accounts products, Argenta was able to orchestrate savings, term deposits, mortgages and insurance products, and had their digital proposition up and running within one year.
GarantiBank International is a mid-sized European bank with offices in the Netherlands and Germany, offering savings products and term deposits. The bank wanted to upgrade to a digital savings bank. We installed Matrix mid to run the new savings bank, and connected the platform to a custom-built customer portal, reducing implementation time dramatically.
Serving around 80,000 customers with a full range of banking products on five Caribbean islands, Aruba bank wanted to become the most modern bank in the region by replacing legacy systems and manual processes using Matrix. Customers benefit from automated onboarding and self-service capabilities, while employees now have a full 360-degree view of the customer, financial figures, related documents, and customer-related activities and workflows. The result is significantly improved customer performance and a reduced total cost of ownership.
Prospery is a new disruptive European digital wealth management proposition to offer customers a total online wealth management package. We were tasked with helping ABN AMRO’s digital proposition provide customers in Germany with a comprehensive view of their current and potential assets, as well as remote personal investment coaching. Using Matrix mid, Prospery now enjoys open banking, with our solution bringing together all client-related information.
Landsbankinn is a leading Icelandic financial institution that offers a full range of financial services and is the market leader in the Icelandic financial service sector. The cooperation started in 1999 when our Securities Processing System was introduced to the bank. Since then, the cooperation has evolved into other business areas using our products for Corporate Actions, Portfolio, Custody, Asset and Fund Management. The retail side of the bank has been using our Matrix Lending and Leasing (formerly Libra Loan) for many years, for the full lifecycle of different types of agreements.

Our cooperation started in 1998 and currently we support their investment and asset management business with a variety of our products. We also support their corporate and retail banking with Matrix Lending and Leasing (formerly Libra Loan), for the full lifecycle of different types of agreements.
The Housing Financing Fund (HFF) is an independent government institution responsible for implementation of housing policies. HFF used to be the primary lender for mortgages to individuals in Iceland and is still servicing a large mortgage portfolio using Matrix Lending and Leasing (formerly Libra Loan). During the implementation we migrated over 70,000 loans in 3 months from an old batch lending system where a term change for a loan could take up to 3-5 days, to be able to serve their customers in real time.
Framtíðin is an online challenger lender founded in 2014. They selected our end-to-end lending platform for student loans, unsecured consumer lending and mortgages. Small unsecured loans can be provided online (in real time) with digital signatures. The solution consists of our customer portal for onboarding, Loan application management and Matrix Lending and Leasing (formerly Libra Loan).
Íslandsbanki is a universal bank across all domestic business segments. Building on over 140 years of servicing key industries in Iceland, Íslandsbanki has developed specific expertise in the tourism, seafood and energy industries. The engagement between five°degrees (formerly Libra) and Íslandsbanki started in 2011 when our Clearing & Settlement system was implemented. Since then, our Fee management system is used by the investment banking side of the bank.
Clearstream is an international central securities depository (ICSD), based in Luxembourg, that provides post-trade infrastructure and securities services for the international market and 58 domestic markets, with 2,500 customers in 110 countries. The cooperation between five°degrees (formerly Libra) and Clearsteam started in 2009, when Clearsteam started to use our technology for settlements in their local market.
Nasdaq Nordic is the common name for the subsidiaries of Nasdaq, Inc. that provide financial services and operate marketplaces for securities in Nordic, Baltic, and Caucasus countries.
Former Libra, now part of five°degrees, was owned by Nasdaq OMX from January 2006 until March 2009 and a business relationship from that period continues with the calculation of indexes using our Index Manager.
